ESCI PROCESS

Once your case is open with the State of California Department of Rehabilitation where ESCI provides services (see service areas), ask your DOR Counselor to refer you to ESCI for Employment Services. Your DOR Counselor will send ESCI a referral packet and an authorization for services which includes information that will help us to help you to get a job.

1. Intake

You will be contacted by an ESCI Staff Member once they have received your referral packet and an Intake appointment will be scheduled.  During the Intake appointment, you will be providing information so that we may complete documents which will help the ESCI Job Developer partner with you in going to work.

2. Employment Preparation

Your 2nd appointment is scheduled to create a professional tailor-made resume, cover letter and master application that will match the jobs that you are applying for.  Interviewing skills and techniques will be worked on with you prior to as many of your interviews as possible (depending on yours and your job developer’s availability).

ESCI has skilled job coaches who are available to be your personal trainer on the job if needed.

Although we offer no guarantees, if you are motivated to go to work, ESCI will help you to become employed in the job of your choice.

4. 90 Day Job Retention

Once you become employed, the ESCI Job Developer will contact you every 2 weeks to find out how your job is progressing and to help you with any questions or concerns that you may have until you reach 90 days of successful employmentAfter the final contact, you have reached a successful case closure.  CONGRATULATIONS!!
